Time and distance meant nothing

I was recently divorced, after being married 28 years. My best friend kept telling me that I needed to get out and meet people. She jokingly told me that she was going to create a dating profile for me, if I didn't give it a try. I finally gave in. I was born and raised on a horse/cattle farm and grew up in the farm equipment business. With my history, FarmersOnly caught my eye. I created a profile. After several months of casual dating, I decided this wasn't for me. One Sunday afternoon, I was bored and decided to try again.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016 I received a message from a very kind man who lived in Mount Airy, North Carolina. I read his message and immediately disregarded it. That was too far away for me (I lived in Georgia). On Wednesday, February 17th, he sent another message, telling me Good Morning and that he hoped I had a good day. I didn't want to be rude, so I responded, thanking him and wishing him the same. He continued messaging me throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, he asked if he could call me that evening. I said sure. I lost count of the number of hours we talked on the phone that Friday night.

He had also given Farmers Only one more shot and extended his radius, and that's how he found me. He laughed and told me that I might just get to liking him and if so, he would drive to Georgia and take me out to eat. We discussed meeting in person sometime within the next couple of months. Before the week was out, sight unseen, we had already decided that we were meant for each other....we were already planning our wedding before we met! Without hesitation, he told me that his plan was for us to live in Georgia. On Friday, February 26th, we met in person for the first time. We both drove 2+ hours each to meet half way. We spent the weekend together as if we had known each other our entire lives....EVERYTHING felt right from the beginning. We weren't strangers....I felt as if I had known him my entire life.

The following weekend, he made the trip to Georgia to meet my family. On Saturday, May 5, 2016, we went to visit my Daddy. He asked my Daddy's permission for my hand in marriage! (I was 48 Years old!) This really stole my heart! We went back to my house and he immediately pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! Of course I SAID YES! On April 15th he moved to Georgia! We were married on April 25, 2016 on the beach at North Myrtle. The only ones present were our kids and grandkids. We announced our marriage via Facebook! We just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and I love that man more and more everyday!

I could not imagine my life without him! Thanks to FarmersOnly, I found my soulmate, the man I am meant to spend the rest of my life with. When you meet "THE ONE" time and distance mean nothing. We talked, met and were married, all within 10 weeks! Responding to that message was the best decision I ever made in my life. - Tim & Melinda

He saw her through a difficult time

I met my husband, James (Jimbo), on FarmersOnly after losing my husband of 13 years to suicide. Jimbo and I both love horses and it was a perfect match. We will be together 4 years in July and married 3 in July. I was a little scared of online dating, but I’m a country girl at heart and knew this was the best one to try. Thank you. - Kimberly What towns/states are y'all from? James is from Knoxville, Tennessee and I am from Dalton, Georgia.

What did you do on your first date? When we met I was living in Etowah, Tennessee. On our first date we met in Madisonville, Tennessee and went to eat dinner, then went to the park to walk and talk for a while.

When did you know that he was the one? I knew he was the one after my Dad passed away. He was there through the whole process.

How did he propose? He proposed to me in Gatlinburg, Tennessee while on the chair lift.

What is your favorite thing about each other? My favorite thing about him is that he is a good Christian Man. He said his favorite thing about me was my heart. We both love horses and the country life.

Y'all look like one of those couples that would be on FarmersOnly.com

Here at FarmersOnly.com, we love hearing y'alls so sweet love stories. Marissa chatted with us about her husband Lee, who she met on FarmersOnly.

Where are y'all from?
Lee lived in Warner Robins, Georgia and I lived in Albany, Georgia. We both now live in our home that we purchased together last year in Fort Valley, Georgia.

What did you do on your first date?
There was about 100 miles in between us, so we met in the middle in Cordell, Georgia. We ate dinner around 7 and then sat on the tail fate of his truck talking until after midnight. The only reason we went home was because it started raining.

When did you know that he was the one?
The night I met him, i pretty much knew he was the one. We met on a Wednesday, then he drove down to see me on Sunday and after that we spent every weekend together until I found a job in Warner Robins and moved. I did this after only four months together. We said the "L" word after only two weeks... we both admit to knowing we loved one another from the start.

What is your favorite thing about him?
I can't name just one! He has the biggest heart, but yet, he's the stronger person I know. He works hard for a living, so his hands are rough and calloused. I love that. One of my most favorite things about him though is his voice. That sounds silly, but I love to hear him talk and sing. I knew he was a singer before I ever heard him talk. He sent me some videos of him singing. So, I knew he had a beautiful singing voice, but I didn't know what he sounded like when he spoke. After meeting on FarmersOnly, we texted back and forth for a couple of days. When we finally spoke on the phone, I fell in love with the sound of his voice. He has this "radio" voice. It's so clear and yet has a slight Southern draw to it. To this day, I love to listen to him talk. His voice has a calming effect on me.

Anything else?
I have a funny story about us and FarmersOnly. Last year, about a month after we got married, we decided to go buy Lee a new kayak. It was time for an upgrade. (We love kayaking). So, we paid for it and pulled our truck up front, so the sales associate could load it. The kayak was longer than the truck bed, so I climbed up and got a strap out of the toolbox while Lee proceeded to strap his new kayak down. The sales associate looked at us and said "I hope you guys don't take offense to this, but I have to say it. Y'all look like one of those couples that would be on FarmersOnly.com." We did laughed. I said, "Well actually, that's exactly where we met, and we just got married less than a month ago!" He hit the nail on the head!

Congratulations on your marriage Marissa and Lee! We wish you love, and happiness, and great kayaking trips, for all the rest of your days!

She drove six hours to meet him for their first date | Meet Kelly and Matt

Here at FarmersOnly.com, we love hearing your Success Stories. Kelly talked to us about her and Matt's "this is it" relationship.

I had been divorced for two years, and had dated a few guys I met on other dating sites. They were okay, but not earth shatteringly awesome. A good friend suggested that I step out of usual spaces and try FarmersOnly. I figured, why not? Maybe an intellectual man's man with an open heart and mind was hiding in plain site. Meanwhile, Matt had just gotten out of a painful breakup and had figured he might find a tolerably decent woman on Farmer's Only. Neither of us looked any further after less than a month on the site. We have been together for 17 months and are getting married this fall. Plus, we get a laugh whenever folks ask how we met! Thank you for making it possible for us to find each other.

What towns are y'all from?
I live in Moultrie, Georgia and Matt lives near Greenville, South Carolina

What did you do on your first date?
I drove up to South Carolina (about a six hour trip) after work so I arrived around 1:30 a.m. to meet the love of my life. We spent the weekend talking, cooking together, and tending to the cats, rabbits, dog, and goats. Our first date weekend just confirmed what both of us felt as we talked for the previous month. This was it.

When did you know that he was the one?
I knew he was the one because nothing was awkward for either of us, we even worked well in the kitchen together.

What is your favorite thing about him?
My favorite thing about him is a tie between his intellect and his compassionate heart.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding Kelly and Matt, we wish the very best for y'all.

People can't believe that's how we met...

From Melissa G. in GA:

I have, met this wonderful and amazing guy on farmers only 1 year 7 months ago and we are getting married now on November 5, 2016... Best money I've spent to find the love of my life, tried every other online dating site for 7 yrs and gave up and then a friend of mine told me to get on farmers only and i said no, im done with online dating sites, i had gave up trying to find a really good guy who was tired of the games and drama, so i finally sign up, met 2 others on this site but they wasnt for me. then i seen jason (my fiancee) profile and loved it and sent him a flirt and he responded back, was his first time ever on a dating site after being married for 24 yrs...We both are just alike and we are like 2 peas in a pod, we have so much in common, it aint funny.. But we suggest to everyone to get on this site... So we both owe it all to Farmersonly for finding our true soul mate and the love of our lives.. Ppl cant believe thats how we met and he is a true farmer...
