They just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary

I just wanted to share a success story. My husband and I met on farmers only. A friend suggested I sign up and a cousin of my husband signed him up without him knowing it. We were both involved in agriculture before and now we farm and ranch together in Missouri. We just celebrated our first year anniverary and everyone loves our story and can’t believe we met on this site! But its true! We found common interests together, found out we have common backgrounds, and are enjoying a great time of it! Just wanted to share! - Rachel. What towns/states are y'all from? Rachel's from Collinsville, Oklahoma, Paul's from Eldridge, Missouri.

What did you do on your first date? Went on a picnic, shot some guns, and talked for about 6 hours that day!

When did you know that he was the one? The first time I gave him a haircut before we were even engaged and I almost blurted out "I love you!"

How did he propose? Paul surprised me with a sunset dinner at my favorite spot on the farm, on the top of a prairie meadow hill in Afton, Oklahoma that has been in the family for several generations. He got down on one knee and I was in shock for the next 30 minutes before I said yes. (Obviously I was surprised.)

What is your favorite thing about each other? My favorite thing about Paul is that he is even-tempered, he doesn't get upset easily and takes things in stride, making us a great match. Paul's favorite thing about Rachel is her beautiful blue eyes.

First date, engagement, marriage. 7 months.

On our fifth date we went to a place called Carolina Ale House where we watched a Tarheels playoff game (basketball) and for the first time told me "you ain't right and can't get right" -  I was hooked. We fell hard and fast after that.

How did he ask you to marry him? He got down on his knee and proposed on Easter Sunday at the Botanical Gardens in Wilson, North Carolina where I lived.

What is your favorite thing about them? He is funny, hard working, kind and cares so much for me. He is my best friend... and his beard!

She met the man of her dreams

I met my gentleman from Randolph, Nebraska. A year from our first date, he asked me to marry him at the exact same place where we had first met each other. I never thought that I would have fallen in love with a man of my dreams off of a dating website. - Renae What towns/states are y'all from? I'm from Portsmouth, Iowa, and Derick is from Randolph, Nebraska.

What did you do one your first date? On first date we meet in Sioux City, Iowa at Golden Corral. The first date we sat and talked for the longest time and laughed. Something deep down in side of me told me that he was the one. I knew he was the one on our fourth date when he meet my parents and he bonded with my dad.

How did he ask you to marry him? The day he ask me to marry me we were at the same Golden Corral, sat at the same table, went out to his truck, we stood there and talked then he got down on one knee.

What is your favorite thing about him? My favorite thing about Derick is his kind, gentle heart, sense of humor,  and gives up anything to be there for me or says he does it for me. When I really knew he was the one is when he made jokes or teased me like my dad does.

Love in south Texas

Screenshot_20171029-150937I joined farmersonly.com after I got a divorce with my first husband in April 2015. My mother suggested I try the site so I could find someone I had more in common with than my first marriage. I grew up in rural Idaho hunting and fishing my entire life and had just moved to Texas in November 2014 to help my parents. I didnt know alot of people in my new state and figured it was worth a try. I connected with Jeff on May 3rd 2015 and we instantly hit it off from the first time we went on a date. Our wedding is next year on November 2nd 2018. We delayed it because we got pregnant during our engagement. Our baby girl is 9 months old now. - Brittany

Where are y'all from? Jeffrey is from Pearsall, TX and I am from Orofino Idaho but was living in Blanco, TX when we met - living about 85 miles apart.

What did you do one your first date? Our first date actually lasted about 12 hours, we just couldn't get enough of each other! We started with a lunch date at a small restaurant then we went to the San Antonio Zoo for a few hours then we saw a movie together and once the movie was over we sat in his truck and talked and watch funny videos on our phones. At the end of the night, we were way past due to be home and our families were worried about us, he leaned over and asked "is this the part where i get to give the pretty girl a kiss goodnight?" And i gave him a peck on the lips cause what girl wouldnt melt when a handsome man says that to you after a wonderful date?

When did you know that they were the one? I think I realized he was the one very shortly after we started dating. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for a major highway construction company. He would have to travel from location to location across Texas. After about 3 months of us dating he was dispatched to WAY south Texas and we had a choice of 1) stop dating because the distance would be to far and we would never be able to see each other or 2) move in with him and wing it. Well i knew that losing him wasnt an option so we moved in with each other and we couldnt have been happier.

How did he ask you to marry him? He asked me to marry him exactly 1 year of us dating. On May 3rd, 2016 we were on a carnival cruise to the western carribean celebrating our anniversary. He set up a dinner reservation at the fanciest restaurant on board and proposed to me after dinner. All the staff came out and took pictures and video and gave us champagne. The rest of the cruise was ro celebrate our engagement.

What is your favorite thing about him? My favorite things about him - he is smart, handsome, caring, a little bit of a romantic, and a very genuine honest person. A lot of his best qualities are hard to come by nowadays in my opinion.

The crazy thing is that our paths have crossed before and we live in the same very small town!

We met on FarmersOnly.com in January and are planning our October wedding! The crazy thing is that our paths have crossed before and we live in the same very small town! My friend encouraged me to get on this site and my fiance's mom encouraged him as well. It was love at first sight and we couldn't be happier. Thank you FO.com! :) <3

It's the beginning of happily ever after!

It was love at first sight, a small town rancher and a big city girl looking for her dream off grid. We have been inseparable since. We run cattle and maintain 1,400 acres of land together now and couldn't be happier. Our date is September 24th, it's the beginning of happily ever after.

My Own Success Story

It seems only right that I start off my time blogging here at FarmersOnly with my own success story. I have so enjoyed reading everyone's and I always love sharing my own!

My name is Morgan and my husband and I met on FarmersOnly back in the summer of 2008. We have been married nearly 4 years and have one beautiful little girl. Our life is full of love, laughter, and lots of farm work. But, we wouldn't have it any other way.

Family time spent feeding the cows in the early Spring.

A friend of mine actually introduced me to FarmersOnly and I decided one day to check it out.

The site actually offered three free days of service at the time. I decided to check it out for free, but there was no way I was going to pay for a dating website. (My husband on the other hand fell for the $15.95 a month hook, line, and sinker)

If you knew me personally you would know how outgoing, loud, and super talkative I am. I had to be the last person who needed a dating website. I was insistent I didn't need it.

But really, what did I have to lose?

I actually met a few "farm" boys on the website. I have become great friends with an Ag teacher in Iowa, and of course my wonderful husband!

My husband and I spoke via email and texting for just over a month before we had our first phone call.

The first time I met him in person it was on the exit ramp up the road from our house.

We had about 5 minutes together before he took me to his parents' house to shower.

I then spent the next 2 hours meeting his brothers, their wives, their children, and his other friends and neighbors.

It wasn't really supposed to work like that. We had hoped to have a few hours together before I met practically every person he knew. But, thanks to Iowa traffic and a tire that blew on me in Minnesota, that didn't happen.

I spent the next week following him around on the farm (Just because I was there didn't mean he stopped being a farmer!), a few days with his sister in laws, and then finally a really hard goodbye.

Not too soon after that we decided that we were head over heels in love.

I transferred from Purdue University to South Dakota State University, finished my degree in Agricultural Education, and married the man of my dreams.

People always ask me how I met my husband, or how I ended up in South Dakota. I really have enjoyed telling the story and love that people get a kick out of the beginning to the rest of our lives.

I owe FarmersOnly so much for introducing me to my husband and I tell everyone that is looking for that special someone that FarmersOnly is a great place to start!
