FarmersOnly Helped Her Find Her Soul Mate

“I would like to thank FarmersOnly for providing their amazing services! I’m a city girl that met my cowboy, Dan, on Farmers Only just over 2 years ago and we just recently got engaged on Christmas!! I was hesitant when I first joined but know we will be playing the Farmers Only theme song when we enter our reception! Thank you again.” - Megan

What did you do on your first date?
I was sitting on the couch one night back in December 2016 after getting divorced and saw the Farmersonly commercial on TV. I have been a city girl my entire life and I’ve only dated city boys. After I saw the commercial I thought why not give a country boy a try? They have a reputation for being respectful have values and are all about family and are hard workers. Dan messaged me but I couldn’t read it because I had not signed up fully for a membership so after a couple of days and looking at his picture several times I decided to go ahead and pay for a month subscription we started talking immediately in the next couple of days we texted back-and-forth on December 20, 2016 he came over to my house so we could meet and have a drink. We talked for hours and hours and have not been apart since.

When did you know that he was the one?
I never believed in soul mates until I met Dan!

How did he propose? Were you surprised?
He proposed to me on Christmas day 2018 in front of his entire family with “Greatest Love Story” by Lanco playing in the background. It was perfect! I knew it was coming but didn’t know when it would actually happen.

Tell us more about your wedding!
We have our wedding day set for April 23, 2021 because I graduate with my degree next year! Thank you again for managing such an amazing service! All of our friends always sing your jingle to us when we walk in a room and love it!

He was a small town guy from Alabama, and she was a farmer in New Mexico

“My husband, Asa, and I got November 17 in Gatlinburg, TN. We met on FarmersOnly, met in person on March 11, 2016 and moved in together 2 weeks later and the rest is history. He was a small town guy from Alabama working on the pipeline in El Paso and I was farming for my dad in New Mexico. We always sing the gingle whenever anyone asks where we met. I found my best friend, my other half! I'm so blessed and glad and happy.. everyday is better with the last with him and it's all because of Farmers Only!” - Megan

What did you do on your first date?

We went on our first date in El Paso, Texas at Hyachi Hibatchi, he was there on a pipeline job. We ended up spending the weekend together instead of just one date. Then the next weekend as well.. and the week after that we started working and living together.

When did you know that he was the one?

I dont think there was an "ah ha" moment about when I knew he was the one for me… we hunt, fish, and sometimes work together… It has been just how he makes me want to be better.

How did he propose?

The proposal I kind of ruined... but it was still sweet..and I was very surprised!!

What is your favorite thing about each other?

His patience and how he loves me and my children and would do anything for me and our kids! He is always there for me!! That's what makes me love him so much!!

She knew he was the one when he adopted the goat

“After almost 21 years of marriage I got divorced because my husband had an affair. On Feb 13, 2015 I met a man thru FarmersOnly who put the smile back on my face and on Saturday 8-18-18, Dan and I got married. Thank you so much for bringing us together.” - Laurie

What did you do on your first date?
Met for dinner at Horn Creek

When did you know that he was the one?
About a year into our dating my niece asked if he would adopt a goat from the zoo she was volunteering at because it was her favorite and they needed to rehome him. This meant home inspection,  proof of local vet on call and signing some legal papers. Without skipping a beat he said sure. Right then I knew I would marry him someday.

How did he propose?
Christmas morning he said he had forgotten a gift in the closet and I should go get it.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
We make each other laugh

Tell us about your wedding?
The wedding was so us and personal. My brother in law performed the ceremony , he wrote the vows the were us and had everyone laughing. I think the pics tell the story.

He drove two hours for their first date

“My now husband, Dwight, and I met on FarmersOnly and we will be married a year in September and started talking 2 years ago in November. I just want to thank your site for getting us together.” - Cheryl.

What did you do on your first date?
He traveled 2 hours just to meet for breakfast because I had a previous engagement in the afternoon.

When did you know that he was the one?
I knew he was the one after going to his hometown and spending the weekend there right before Christmas. We went Christmas shopping together, he took me various places and he was very attentive. I had mentioned in passing there was somewhere I had always wanted to go and he surprised me by taking me there.

How did he propose?
Actually, that's kind of funny, I was at home, he was at home and we got into a very long discussion about certain things that we had gone through. You could say we opened up about our deepest secrets.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
I like the fact that we make decisions together, and we listen to each other. There are no heated discussions, no arguments, we listen to what each other has to say before determining a decision.

He was bailing hay and was a little late to their first date

Our love story made the Kansas City Star. We only met 4 months ago and just got married. She is the love of my life and truly my best friend. Thanks to your website. - Jeff.

What is your wife’s name?

What did you do on your first date?
First off, I had to call her and tell her I was going to be late because I had to finish bailing alfalfa hay. Luckily she understood, coming from a farming background. We met at a Mexican restaurant. We talked about how we always order the same food every time so I ordered what she always orders and she ordered what I always order. Her mom called while we were eating and I got a chance to talk to her. We had a good chat and I found out some interesting things about Amy. She was pretty embarrassed after I talked with her mom. After dinner we drove around and looked at camping sites we both used to camp at and they ended up being in the same campground on Truman lake. We drove for hours around Truman lake area and we stopped for ice cream. We found a spot near the water and talked until 3:00 in the morning. There was a smell of rotten fish but we really didn’t care as we were having good conversation and it was a beautiful night. We ended the night agreeing to a second date. I got stopped by the sherif for speeding on my way home. He asked me where I was going at 4:00 in the morning. I said I’m on my way home from my first date in 20 years. He said it must have went well and let me off with a warning because he didn’t want to ruin my night.

When did you know that she was the one?
I knew she was the one after our first date.

How did you propose?
I proposed on 8/11/2018 after knowing her for 2 months and we got married on 10/6/2018. I first asked her 2 daughters for permission, then my own daughter and finally Amy’s dad. They was all excited and gave me their blessings. Amy’s birthday was coming up so I planned a get together at my creek with my family and her family. She knew I had invited her family but I surprised her by inviting her best friend. She knew something was up but she figured it was me surprising her by inviting her best friend. Little did she know I was planning on proposing so I got down on one knee and simply asked “will you marry me”?  She started giggling and crying and said “yes.”

What is your favorite thing about each other?
”I love how caring and compassionate Amy is towards people.” - Jeff

”I love how Jeff is spontaneous and active. I also love how he unselfishly helps his neighbors out on their farms and does so with a caring attitude. We just moved into our new home and 15 acres that we bought December 14th and we love working together to get our house to be more like a home and this spring we will be planting alfalfa.” - Amy

“Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Time and distance meant nothing

I was recently divorced, after being married 28 years. My best friend kept telling me that I needed to get out and meet people. She jokingly told me that she was going to create a dating profile for me, if I didn't give it a try. I finally gave in. I was born and raised on a horse/cattle farm and grew up in the farm equipment business. With my history, FarmersOnly caught my eye. I created a profile. After several months of casual dating, I decided this wasn't for me. One Sunday afternoon, I was bored and decided to try again.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016 I received a message from a very kind man who lived in Mount Airy, North Carolina. I read his message and immediately disregarded it. That was too far away for me (I lived in Georgia). On Wednesday, February 17th, he sent another message, telling me Good Morning and that he hoped I had a good day. I didn't want to be rude, so I responded, thanking him and wishing him the same. He continued messaging me throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, he asked if he could call me that evening. I said sure. I lost count of the number of hours we talked on the phone that Friday night.

He had also given Farmers Only one more shot and extended his radius, and that's how he found me. He laughed and told me that I might just get to liking him and if so, he would drive to Georgia and take me out to eat. We discussed meeting in person sometime within the next couple of months. Before the week was out, sight unseen, we had already decided that we were meant for each other....we were already planning our wedding before we met! Without hesitation, he told me that his plan was for us to live in Georgia. On Friday, February 26th, we met in person for the first time. We both drove 2+ hours each to meet half way. We spent the weekend together as if we had known each other our entire lives....EVERYTHING felt right from the beginning. We weren't strangers....I felt as if I had known him my entire life.

The following weekend, he made the trip to Georgia to meet my family. On Saturday, May 5, 2016, we went to visit my Daddy. He asked my Daddy's permission for my hand in marriage! (I was 48 Years old!) This really stole my heart! We went back to my house and he immediately pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! Of course I SAID YES! On April 15th he moved to Georgia! We were married on April 25, 2016 on the beach at North Myrtle. The only ones present were our kids and grandkids. We announced our marriage via Facebook! We just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and I love that man more and more everyday!

I could not imagine my life without him! Thanks to FarmersOnly, I found my soulmate, the man I am meant to spend the rest of my life with. When you meet "THE ONE" time and distance mean nothing. We talked, met and were married, all within 10 weeks! Responding to that message was the best decision I ever made in my life. - Tim & Melinda

After e-Harmony and Match, they found love on FarmersOnly

My fiancé, James, and I met on FarmersOnly. We have so much in common and sometimes finish each other’s sentence. We have a saying “what else is there” when we find another thing in common or were going to say the same thing! He is from Rockport, Texas and I am from Yoakum, Texas. We started talking the end of January, 2016 and he proposed to me April 4, 2018! We are planning to get married April of 2019. We both used other dating websites such as e-Harmony and Match, none of those were successful. I was raised on a small ranch with cows and tractors and such on about 100 acres. I teased him when we first started dating because he hadn’t worked cows before or driven a tractor and of course I have. I called him my coastal country boy. Now he helps my family on the farm and loves it. He is now my coastal cowboy! <3. - Brandi

What did you do on your first date? Our first date was February 6, 2016. It was the day of the Super Bowl. We watched the game and he played his guitar for me. ❤️❤️

When did you know that he was the one? I’m not sure? I didn’t think it would go anywhere after the first date, but I was wrong! It was most likely shortly after we met, maybe a month or so. We have so many things in common and turned out we have a mutual friend.

How did he propose? He took me home to Yoakum, Texas where I grew up. He told my parents he was going to propose so they knew. I kind of had an idea he was going to do it because I knew when the rings were going to be delivered which was on April 4, 2018 (the same day he proposed). He took me to my parent's pasture and parked by their fish tank. He wanted to feed the fish so we brought fish food with us. I was driving his truck. He got out before me and I met him at the tailgate. I was reaching for the fish food and was picking my teeth with a toothpick. He proposed simply. Right then he knelt down, said my full name and of course asked if he could marry me.

What is your favorite thing about each other? We have so much fun together it’s hard to say. We have a natural vibration, a strong chemistry and both have a sense of humor and we get one another.

He saw her through a difficult time

I met my husband, James (Jimbo), on FarmersOnly after losing my husband of 13 years to suicide. Jimbo and I both love horses and it was a perfect match. We will be together 4 years in July and married 3 in July. I was a little scared of online dating, but I’m a country girl at heart and knew this was the best one to try. Thank you. - Kimberly What towns/states are y'all from? James is from Knoxville, Tennessee and I am from Dalton, Georgia.

What did you do on your first date? When we met I was living in Etowah, Tennessee. On our first date we met in Madisonville, Tennessee and went to eat dinner, then went to the park to walk and talk for a while.

When did you know that he was the one? I knew he was the one after my Dad passed away. He was there through the whole process.

How did he propose? He proposed to me in Gatlinburg, Tennessee while on the chair lift.

What is your favorite thing about each other? My favorite thing about him is that he is a good Christian Man. He said his favorite thing about me was my heart. We both love horses and the country life.

First date? Ghost tour.

I had been on many dating sites but I couldn’t find my “country boy”. So my coworker convinced me to try FarmersOnly. I met Michael through FarmersOnly 1 month into my subscription. My first correspondence through the site to Michael was “you’re cute” he responded back with “you’re cute too,” we texted back and forth for about 6 weeks until we finally met in Nashville for a ghost tour on October 29th, 2016. He was from Huntsville, Alabama and drove over 2 hours to meet me. I knew the minute I met him, he was the one for me and we were going to get married. And on Christmas Day 2017, he popped the question and I said yes! We are getting married this year! Michael was the only man I met in person from Farmers Only, but I can tell you it only takes one to meet the man of your dreams and my true to life country boy. - Amy

What towns/states are y'all from? I'm from Franklin, Tennessee, and he's from Huntsville, Alabama.

What did you do on your first date? He decided to make the two hour trek up to Nashville to meet me after we had met and chatted on for about six weeks. Our first face to face date was on October 29th 2016 at the Opry Mills Mall in the food court right outside the sushi restaurant. Through our texting we had discovered that we both enjoyed sushi, so we had planned to meet at the sushi restaurant and have dinner, but all did not go as planned. I think we were both a bit nervous, so we decided to postpone dinner and just go out on the town for a little while. He had a surprise waiting for me; he had bought tickets to a ghost tour in downtown Nashville, so we decided to make our way to lower Broadway to enjoy the honky tonks before our tour. He took me to one of his favorite places, the Wildhorse salon, where we sat at the bar and had a few drinks and shared the pimento cheese dip with these huge crackers.

We left a short while later to go attend our tour but it wasn't quite time yet so while walking through downtown we found a small Japanese restaurant. We both were not hungry yet so we just drank some sake. Finally the ghost tour was about to start. When we arrived for the ghost tour, the host began to call out the names of the people who had purchased tickets. She called out everyone's name except for ours but called out one additional name; Daniel. After a few seconds, he said, "oh, that's me" I thought it was funny that he seemed to have forgotten his name or something because at the time I only knew him as his middle name, Michael, but Daniel is in fact his first name. Anyways, as we are walking around the city on our ghost tour we start to get closer and closer.

By the third stop at the Capital Building, I don't think we could have lasted any longer and we had our first kiss. After that we pretty much made out all over Nashville while we walked on our ghost tour. I am sure we had to be very annoying to the others patrons on the tour. Almost to the end of the tour, we went through Painter's Alley and decided to abandon the tour and stopped in another bar to listen to the live music that they were playing. After a drink or two, we decided on one more bar stop. This one was Tootsies. We took a petty cab from Painter's Alley to Tootsies but did not have enough cash to pay, so Michael went into Tootsies to get some cash while I waited with the petty cab driver for him to come back. I remember telling the driver that I was sorry that we did not have any cash as we had just given all of our cash to our fifteen year old son to go to the mall. This in fact was true, as Michael brought his son with him to Nashville and had in fact gave him all his cash just prior to meeting me. I guess this is where I was already claiming Michael's son as my own.

We had just one more drink at Tootsies before I started to get really hungry, so we went to the Nashville cafe. By this time is was 3 o'clock in the morning and we decided we had better get back. So we got back to Opry Mills to pick up our cars, but we couldn't seem to leave each other just yet. We talked and giggled until 4:30 in the morning that night. It was the best first blind date I have ever had, and now we are getting married, so it will officially be my last blind date!

How did he propose? Michael proposed to me on Christmas day 2017. While I knew he had a ring for me because we picked it out together, I did not know when he was going to pop the question. I thought it might happened on Christmas day, but the whole day went by without a peep. It wasn't until late that evening when we were getting ready for bed that he sat down next to me and asked me if I would marry him, and of course I said yes! We set the wedding date for April 28, 2018, and are busy preparing for our lives together.

What do you tell people who are still waiting for "the one"? I am 38 and it took me a while but I tell my friends who are still dating that "It only takes one."
